The Ribbon: A mixed-use, urban infill project on Detroit's east side celebrates with a ribbon cutting ceremony today.

The Ribbon is the first mixed-use development of its size to open in decades in the East Warren Commercial Corridor.

Today marks the grand opening of Detroit’s newest mixed use project. Developer, Ed Carrington of Flux City, worked with the East Warren Development Corporation to identify community needs and wants into an affordable housing infill project. Community input was considered when selecting tenants for the commercial/retail component of the project and providing ‘second spaces’ for the community. An outdoor plaza lends itself as a gathering space for both patrons and tenants.

All 18 apartment units are earmarked for affordable housing, with a mixture of 50% AMI (area median income) and 80% AMI, and range in price from $900 to $1728. The Ribbon is now accepting rental applications through Suite Properties.
